Urban Exploration Northern Ireland
« on: March 11, 2010 »

I'm a bit fan of the 28 Days Later Urban Exploration forum - some of the photos you see are truly awesome (and they accidently threatened Yvette Fieldings life which was excellent).

I came across this thread of them tramping round Belvoir Park Hospital.

It's well worth a gander.

Thats an excellent site, nice post.  I'd never even heard of urbex before.  I'm kinda intrigued, I'm sure all that sneaking around security guards would get the adrenaline flowing.  However I reckon my heart would give out every time I heard the slightest noise...  :o

Me too but I think we should consider a run to somewhere not too difficult.

I think we should plan a trip. Maybe not to Belvoir first off - somewhere abandoned but less contentious as a starter for 10.
I'd love to do some photography in places like that.

Another good place to have a sneaky overnighter....The castle at Downhill - the one beside the Mussenden Temple. Bit further away for a local drive, but would be good to have a night there.

Belvoir sounds like a plan and it looks the part. Whereabouts is it anyway, somewhere in east Belfast or am I totally off the mark?
There must be loads of places like this around the country, I can think of 1 just down the road from me that would be good, anyone else got any ideas?

I know these guys really well, infact the guy lying on the slab assists me when I shoot the Cage Wars fights.  They are bloody mad, one guy who goes with them is an ex Para!

I have been to a few of them and can give you a few locations to get ya all started. Belvoir is the best, but highly illegal.  There is security patrols going round and they have to be dodged.
