-
I will not be going to take part but I might go to take photos of you guys.
-
I'll do if you do Lenny 8) anyone else for a ni-wild team? fancy dress maybe?

not a hope of me doing it. I am already doing the marathon on the 2nd May and all my fund raising is going towards that. :)
-
count me in!
-
we need teams of 3. Liam are up for it?
-
If you're not looking for a fast pace then count me in
-
It'll just be a bit of crack.
We're no speed demons either mate.
-
great!.....
what are we gonna call the team!
-
Since we all like a drop of tonic what about the wine bags??
-
nice. All that mud looks the a night on the soup. Fancy dress?
-
Oh yes. we could pick something up from that burning desires place
-
good stuff!
we should dress up as the Buckfast monks!
-
Great idea.
Is there going to be any other NI wild teams?
-
Well that's the ni-wild elite ::) team sorted, I like the buckfast monks idea, have a look on ebay for some fancy dress stuff, should be able to get something for about a tenner each.
-

-

If you're going to enter a team we'll maybe get a posse together to come and show some support!
-
and bring some refresment!
-
can we be "Monks gone wild"
-
There's a mental image I didn't need.
can we be "Monks gone wild"
-
not sure the outfits would last long, look at this pick from the course :o
-
have you guys actually entered yet? if not i could put the team entry in and you could pay me on the day
-
We haven't entered yet, haven't got speaking to Mickey but every thing is still on.
If you don't mind doing that liam thats sound, we'll square you up on the day. Cheers

Just drink as much tonic as possible the night before the race and you'll be fine.
-
well i've had my action man haircut (easier to get the mud out of ;) and oiled the wheels of my zimmer frame so all ready to go, should be a good opportunity for some pics for this weeks photo competition but don't think i dare bring the camera on the course :o i hope it rains a bit to soften up the mud ;D

Dont be wishing for rain or you wont get a steak.
-
a video of the course
-
weel the forecast looks good for a BBQ ;D
Sunday:
The dry weather will continue and after a rather cloudy start, some bright or sunny spells will develop during the day. Light winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
I was thinking, if i wrap myself up in cling film it would stop me getting all muddy ;)
(i've seen it done with land rovers :o )
The key timings for the day are as follows:
10:00 Registration opens*
12:00 Registration closes
12:30 Warm up
13:00 Race starts
i aim to be there for about 11am (ish)
-
no worries liam see you tomorrow.
-
are the uniforms ready?
-
We did it ;D
But that was one seriously muddy course, Lenny should have some good pics.
I'm sitting in the bath now letting the mud soften before I "try" to shower it off, already had a quick solar shower after the event, a hose down in the garden, and still covered in it, picking blobs of mud from EVERY nook and cranny, well at least I hope its mud :o
I'll be having nightmares about those camel humps for weeks, still keen to do it next year though!
-
Well done guys. Was it good fun?
-
It was cracker jack.
The mud smelled so gross.
its like, a once in a lifetime opportunity to jumP in giant mud pools, but you can always sign up for nexT year , which I shall!

I never saw MikeD. your welcome guys. Had fun and so did the wife. I have more phots that I didn't put on so will mail them.
-
Cheers Lenny
-
well, call me stupid, but, when i finished the first lap, I saw all the runners standing in the 'paddock' area, so i thought it was only 1 lap long.... so i went and got changed, had some jaffa cakes and a drink..... realised it was two laps..... saw some friends from work run past and thought ... i'll have to run round again in my lovely clean clothes - and so i did......
but the timing system was all messed up, they started by giving my number to someone else, so i showed up as a late entry, and then, I didn't have my tag on for the second lap, but i did the first lap in 44:30 and after my wee rest stop, blazed round the second lap, loved it, but no time recorded for me!
-
Mike you seemed to be doing well. Thats a shame.
As long as you had good crack anyway.

I sort of made the same mistake....I stepped over the finish line and after lap 1 on my way to lap 2! thats why I came 44th or whatever! But I really finished with liam.
well done mike!
