A camp last week-end at Drinneevar Quarry with Glenn B and Redleader, overlooking Donard Wood and Newcastle. A bit cold and windy but the excellent views more than made up for it.

It was indeed, it took 4 fire-logs to keep us toasty.

Was a spendid night in the hills. The wind didn't let up all night and it was super cold but for February it was fine. Biggest issue for me was bringing a Vango Banshee 300 tent with the poles and pegs of a Vaude Ultralight 8) I had to use the poles as best I could and remove the inner and sleep on it. Not an ideal setup but needs must and all that.
Definitely a highly recommended spot. Not too hard to get to and as Yak said, spectacular views.
