Had a wee 2hr,dander round the cave hill loop on Thursday it was a bright, dry, but cold day. I was looking for the crash site of the B17, but without success. I remember playing there as a boy in the sixties and finding bits n pieces including .5 inch shells. Does anyone have any info on the location of the site? I also remember doing the same at a crash site above Donard park. I also noticed a zephros 2 pitched about 200 mtrs back from the summit and wondered if it was anyone from the forum?

You can't beat Cave Hill for a quick dander if you don't want to have to drive too far. I've never been game enough to camp up there, always too wary of local drunken nutters appearing :o

You could get in contact with Alfie Montgomery, (https://goo.gl/yeYSLQ) the man who found the wedding ring in the 90s at the crash site.
He's on Youtube, you could message him and ask if he might be willing to show you the location on Google Maps, worth a punt: https://goo.gl/q7Sz6B
