Waterfront Hall
Monday 19th July, 19-23 July
15 places // £60

Taking an interactive look at one of the most popular urban art forms of recent times, students learn the theory and practice of free running and work to develop fundamental skills and processes. Health and safety, discipline, respect, inspiration, confidence and conditioning are also covered in the course.

NB: All activities are attempted according to the student’s own judgment and entirely at their own risk. Students should wear tracksuit bottoms, trainers and bring water.

Don't want to start a flame war but I always thought free running looked like nonsense. It's like nornal running only free-er. Basically it's just running and jumping over stuff. I see kids doing it all the time and they just call it playing  ::)

i tend to agree, especially if they arent very good but on the other hand you gotta respect the skill + strength not to mention balls to do some of this stuff

True. It's not that I think there's no skill. I just don't think you can class it as a sport.

Dang Chuck - I've just spent the past half-hour watching free-running videos on youtube  ;D
Anything else would have been a waste of time: There's some awesome stuff!

Wonder is it all going to be kids at that course - I've always wanted to learn to flip and somersault but avoided teaching myself for fear of breaking my neck...

Make like table salt; be free-running!

Yeah but children didn't put a fancy name on it so they could charge people money to teach them ;) Open your mind to what is the urban playground j! It does get pretty impressive when you see the pros tho.
