Title: Minnowburn, Shaws Bridge
Post by: RedLeader on May 18, 2009
I took a quick morning paddle from Minnowburn at Shaws Bridge to Eel Weir and back, just for some practice. Weather was nice and I hid under the trees when the showers came. I stopped and walked up to Eel Weir to have a look - I can see why it's recommended you portage it!!

It's a crackin spot there, I walk the dog down there all the time and I have canoed there twice, it was on the canoe's that we had my daughter's birthday party, we had a brilliant day and the kid's loved it, Leah is alway's asking when we are doing it again.
Good post mate thank's for sharing.
Davy.

That looks great Johnno. I'd love to have a go in an open canoe sometime.

Anyone's always welcome to come for a paddle. The canoe's heavy and I'm always glad of someone to help me get it on and off the car :)
There's no finer way to spend a day than a paddle to somewhere remote for a lunch over an open fire, and if the wife's in good form, a spot of camping!
