Yeah, it all fell by the wayside. My complete lack of artistic abilities holds it all back a bit :)
Is still on the cards though.

we could raise some money for charity - by doing an outdoor thing - and get a bit of PR from the papers that way....

We could always setup an Air Ambulance "charity".  That way we could raise £750k or so then all disappear to the Himalayas for a while :D :P

Someone on here takes photos for a living I think ,maybe they could call in a few favours and get it in  more papers if possible :) just a thought .or paint a big niwild. Com on the side of cavehill but not sure that would go down to good

Can we get some linkage from the iPlod site?
Target the contact person of the numerous NI walking/rambling clubs with an email. If they don't have web sites, a fair number have newsletters that go out before each walk they do (including the lunch menu on the back....it's all very civilised..). Also try offering the club a hosted forum a lot of them are non-techy.

My head of department's father is the organiser for this event along with the Ballywalter one.

With the talk of the iPlod (and IMHO mentaltons running 50km in the dark/rain) and the talk of flyers (and the excessive work involved with them) I just had a brain fart using the first images I came across.....perhaps the call to action is a bit too subtle.

Possible uses:
  • print them out and stick them on your dashboard when you are heading for the mountain
  • slip a small laminated version into the route card of the iPlod'ers
  • laminate a large one and stick it to the back of your ruck's rain cover
  • other...

ps. domain names are one of my 'things' this domain name should really be registered without the hyphen..and in .com as well, to stop some nasty typosquatter causing problems with people trying to find this site.

Cheers for the suggestions all. We'll have to get some of them into practice so we can swell our numbers!
