Came across this today and looks like a good bit of fun, anyone fancy getting an NI Wild team together for the Dublin event next year?

Aye I'd definately be up for it. Did Toughguy last year and it was pretty mental! Let's get a load going!
If I have one tip for this kind of thing it's all about mental attitude. I passed guys alot fitter than me because they just couldn't handle the elements and the cold, got caught up in the obstacles because they just weren't that up for it
So if I've one tip it'd be to develop a bit of a cowboy/yee ha attitude and roll with it! :)

;D try watching this without laughing.

Could be tempted. If for any other reason just for the orange headband.

Ah the joys of electrocution.... That's one of the maddest bits of any of these things!

I'd love to have a go at the tough guy event but as it's only one spot in the uk you add on a ton of cost for travel and accommodation just for a race, sadly that expense I wasn't able to justify.
The whole team aspect of tough mudder makes it seem like a better overall day out though. They do two electric parts, one like the vid posted where you run through, the other is on your belly in a flooded tarp 8)

Let's do this: what date is it and how many per team?

Let's do this: what date is it and how many per team?
Tough mudder Dublin is October 4/5 2014, team sizes are any amount you want but if you have 6-10 in a team they give you a fiver discount each with a tenner discount each for more than 10 in a team. Prices are a little steep and done in a staggered way that the earlier you book the cheaper it is. The current price is around £65 per person by todays conversion rates, that price remains until may 15th when it goes up to something silly like £80 each.
If we were going to form up a team then I would think it best if we set a cut off date for folks to give a 100% yes or no, maybe but the middle or end of april to give plenty of time to get all the registration in?
-
Cool: I'm 100% in. Let's post here and set a reminder of the cut off date. Could even maybe set up a "practice" day in the Mournes before the event.
-
Yip I'm in. Agree with a cut off then enter before the price gets too crazy.
Yeah a practice day in cold weather, snow even better, hard to tell the distance but I guess it's somewhere round a half marathon distance.
I just want the headband!
Also would it be the sat or sun one? If I had a choice it'd be the sat as the course is fresh.

There's one on bay ;D

But shame on anyone who would wear it without doing the course!
(hope no one ever spots me in my mourne wall walk t shirt 8) )

I know how you feel, i get guilt pangs each time i wear the extreme 26 buff claire gave me.
As for distance I think all the tough mudder course are 10-12 miles.

Just wondering if there is anyone else who fancies this now the cut off date is starting to get closer? I think I would prefer to do the Saturday if possible as this allows you to relax and enjoy the after party without the rush off getting home before Monday morning.
As the price goes up in May should we set ourselves a cut off date as the 1st of May? This keeps the entry price down and means we get plenty of training time for the event.
Postie brought me some new shinies today so a little hyped for this event along with getting away from the tarmac and hitting the trails & mud this year. 8)

This is a bit late but you got a team together yet
-
Didn't really get any number of 100% confirms for this, as such I didn't push on after my last post. The price for entry now has rocketed to around 120 euros, which for me seems boarder line extortion for this sort of thing. I definitely won't be doing it this year but still would like to get it sorted for 2015.

Count me in. I'm back in training now anyway to shed the BBQ weight
