Post by: Matthew on June 25, 2011
Kovea, a Korean company have been making stoves and have recieved many awards in their short history. KOVEA Co Ltd specializes in portable butane gas appliances and is recognized as leaders in manufacturing with over two decades in research development and technical engineering of high performance outdoor equipments.
Located in Bu-Cheon City, Korea, KOVEA challenges itself to a zero rated quality performance control system. Stringent in-house testing and quality control procedures allow KOVEA to seek certification from internationally recognized laboratories ”AGA", "CE", "CSA", "JIA", and "TUV“ and KGSC.
KOVEA exports to the world either the KOVEA branded name or manufactures for internationally recognized labels.
Export volume represents over 11 million US dollars per annum.
KOVEA Co Ltd is one division of a larger organization including VISION KOVEA Co Ltd and TRANGO Co LTD, KOVEA Tech. With established worldwide networks and affiliated companies, KOVEA supplies product into the domestic market with volume exceeding 15 million US dollars
After looking at this wee stove for over a month, I finally decided to give it a punt. Now another stove is the last thing I need as I have a

•   Jet Boil
•   Mini Trangia
•   Solid Fuel stove
•   Home made can stove
•   Another gas stove
•   Hobo burner
Anyway some specification points from their website

•   Net weight : 60g
•   Ignition : Manual
•   Fuel :Iso-Butane (Screw Type Gas Canister)
•   Consumption : 162g/h (1,916kcal / 7,606BTU / 2.22kW)
•   Screw Gas Canister
•   230g / 450g
•   Pot Supporter Adjusting
•   Knob
•   Stove Head Ignition
-   Titanium Pot Supporter makes light weight and durable.
-   Specially designed stove head emits strong flame power
•   at any situation.
-   Elaborate adjusting valve easy to adjust tiny flame
After having a go with it, the stove appears to be great at what it does. The precision valve allows for a great range of adjustment in fame. The adjuster is enclosed in a nylon jacket to prevent debris blocking the turning mechanism; all in it is a great wee bit of kit.
The only drawback was the £11 pounds handling fee Royal Screw Over I mean Royal Mail added.

Looks good. I'm a big fan of the light can top stoves. Bit of a pain in the wind but worth it for the weight. I can't comment on owning too many stoves. Bit of a stove freak myself ;)
