Pro Action Hike Lite
« on: February 22, 2010 »

Hi Guys,

Just to let you know this tent is back in stock for home delivery at argos!

I just ordered a couple.

I know it says its a one person tent but will it be enough for me and my partner? I did read somewhere that 2 ppl can fit in it? is there much room in the porch for gear?

Cheers

The man speaketh the truth - well spotted! Is only £15.99 now too. Going to order one myself as a spare pounf for pound it's the best value piece of outdoor gear I've ever seen. (There's only 2 in stock and I'm going to order one so you'd best be quick ;))

can you shed any light on if it'll be ok for me and the wife?

Any room for a couple of backpacks in the porch?

It would be a squeeze for 2 but it's doable. I know that BillyBackpack has had 2 in as has Chris. Theres enough room for a rucksack inside the door but it touches both the inner and outer and there isn't really a porch as such, certainly not enough to shelter or cook under. You could prob mod the tent to use the door flap as a small porch for cooking using a walking pole.

I'd say that you'd need to experiment but at £15.99 you won't be too out of pocket if it proves too small.

aye it'll be grand i'm sure... she's small anyway!

I'll only be using it for maybe 1 or 2 nights in the hills.

As you say I cant be bad for £15.99. I suppose maybe you could always take a lightweight tarp for cooking etc?

The tent comes in at about 1700g for me including all it's gubbins and a few spare pegs. It really depends on how light you want to be after that. If I had the choice I'd always take a tarp if I could, even on day walks. They're super useful even just for shelter if it's wet when you're eating.

I'm ashamed to say that I have in fact done this. Had a tent up in the garden for testing and one night after a few ales it seemed like the perfect place to sleep. The wife was somewhat annoyed that I made this decision while she was in bed and didn't tell her meaning she woke up in the middle of the night to find I'd totally disappeared ;) Oops..

As J said I shared this with my partner (on the mmm!) We're both normal sized blokes and we fit in allright, Not even too much of a squeeze! You'll have to sleep head to foot, and the small end of the tent is actually quite big. I'll admit it becomes tight when two people are in it getting ready to sleep (taking clothes off, getting into sleeping bags etc) but once you've spent 10mins getting settled its fine. Bag wise there is next to no room in the porch, I usually put my shoes and socks there with enough room to cook aswell, I find that The tent is quite long and both myself and my partners (again mmm only!) bags both fit inside no problem.

This is the room i had in mine on the errigal trip. You could fit 2 in but finding space for gear might be the prob
