I was out with my GF dad in a frammers field shoting crow and wood peigeon (hit nothing) He had two shot guns. He has them in a safe bolted to the wall in his house. He said you need to get forms from the cop shop to alpy for a gun licence then find 3 farmmers that will let you shot on there land. The nice thing is walking in the fields of quietness until your he shot gun fires up, it is fun but.

To apply for a certificate you need one land owners permission and one person as a person that will provide a character reference.

The safe is a definite must and this will be inspected so it must be secured to the fabric of the building.

The problem with applying is that the police simply don't want people to have them so certificates for new applicants are harder to get. More often than not first time applicants have an interview by their local firearms officer to find out the reasons why they want the weapon at all.

I'm not saying there is no chance of being granted a firearms certificate, it's just a bit more difficult than an extension to one.

Airsoft does look fun. I think you have to really in to it to really enjoy it. No point in just moping about. On the other hand some of the peeps that are really in to it are a bit worrying  :o :D

A proper 'war games' type airsoft over a few days inc. camp would be awesome  ;D

I'd much prefer the real thing though

I believe it is little pellets like used in BB guns; about 6mm in size  ;D

That's why you'll want plenty of protection especially around the face; those buggers can sting  :o

I'm a retired airsofter and it is brilliant craic, some of the best fun I've ever had.  Yes, there are a few muppets doing it that take it a little too seriously but like anything else if you're there to enjoy it then you'll have a great day.

You'll be given eye and face protection wherever you do as it will sting if you get hit in the face (I speak from bitter experience!  :'() and the game sites are well organised.

As in you want to turn up and use their weapons?

That was the general idea. Don't want to start shooting 5.56 or 50 cals but was thinking along the lines of .22 or even air rifles.

I know the gun clubs are a tight knit group Rusty but was hopiung someone here had there foot in the door??

if u were down in the northwest any sunday i would take u 2 my gun club
