Does anyone know where in Belfast you can learn how to kayak and canoe. Especially if you don't have any equipment and preferably at a low cost.
Thanks

Turn Up and Paddle sessions with Mobile Team Adventure at Shaws Bridge. Does what it says in the tin, just appear at the right time and John Hubbocks and his cohorts will supply all the gear you need for some fun on the water. I did it a few years ago, was great (though we did Canadians).

Mobile Team Adventure at Shaws Bridge are fantastic, it's £15 a session, about two hours and you can choose either a kayak or canadian canoe if there's a few of you. It's worth going for two weekends in a row, one to get all the basics down and then the next weekend they'll be happy to let you paddle away on your own. In saying that, the open sessions closed last weekend for the season and will be starting up again around March.

As mentioned by others, Mobile Team Adventure - owner John Hubbocks - he runs a intro to sea kayking in Spring (mid April ish) 6 wk course for about £100-£120ish - well worth it indeed, I started and continued throughout the summer, fantastic sport and John will teach in a way that is relaxed, easy to understand and you develop the techniques without realising!
