The last of this summer's good weather may not be over just yet.

We may be due to experience a mini-heatwave over the next week if temperatures soar.

Some places have already felt the warmest September day since 2006. The guage peaked above 28C in London and Gravesend in Kent. That is 10C hotter than usual.

The Met Office has hinted there could be warm weather over the weekend.

It would be welcome news to people attending music events like Bestival on the Isle of Wight.

One music fan said: " I'm not going to be the only one who hopes it's not going to rain there this year. So I hope the talk about better weather comes true. After all the dry spells have been in short supply this year."

The speculation may be treated with some scepticism as the forecaster has already come in for some criticism after predicting a 'barbecue summer'.

It failed to materialise in many areas which have experienced heavy flooding.

Why don't the schools put the summer hols back a month or so, this has happened every year since I started 1st year.  It's annoying having good weather just as you're going back to school after a summer with 55 days of rain
