a series of 10k thursday night runs through the winter
starts 4th November 2010, mainly in the Mournes (great scenery but it'll be dark ::) ) but a couple at Stormont

hoping to try a few of these myself
-
I think you should run them all.......for charity of course ;)
-
Sounds good i'd be up for that.
-
I'd taken a look at the events at Stormont, might give one a go! I ran a 10k in September and really enjoyed it, although I haven't been out running since ::)
-
I don't think I've run a continuous mile for over 15 years so can't see myself doing them all! but most have 2 laps so handy for the stragglers like me to opt out half way :)
-
things have changed since my last post, stopped on way home from work for a jog ran a continuous mile, maybe i will try them all now ;D
-
I ended up following one of those walk/run routines for a few weeks to get me up to running for 30 minutes continuous. We did the 10k in about 1hr 4mins which I thought was okay for a first attempt considering a few months previous I could barely run the length of myself. Would really like to get some off-road running done now and under head torch light sounds a lot better (and safer) than running the roads in the dark!

Yeah, I want to try running Belvoir Forest at night but know the 1st time is going to scare the bejesus out of me thinking I'm going to be stabbed :o Maybe we could do an NI-wild night run thread... for when there isn't the time for a night hike or urban bivvy.
Definitely want to do the Stormont 10k, not sure about the others unless I can get a car lift (after last winter I'm not going out at night on the motorbike)!

Yes, it is - well spotted! Mr Northern Focus is in the background too 8)

I may do some of the others if anyone from Belfast is heading down and doesn't mind a passenger.

Ha! I'm positively lurking there! That's just after I missed taking a photo of you on your first lap. (I've just noticed I seem to be in lots of photographs - glad I moved over to the other side after a while!)

Great time - was that over 10k? First 5km was very fast!!
Just wondering how well marked the course is? Was thinking of doing one or two of these as a means of keeping fit (currently doing some jogging)..
-
Cheers!
The course was all taped for the race - ie. you stay on the path or between the tape. Any junctions or ambiguous bits have a tape barrier. The tape will have been removed, but the maps are on the 26Extreme website if you want to recreate (albeit with some more navigation).

would love to do one of these myself.
too fatr away though.
