Just to make you all aware , for those of you who enjoy indoor climbing walls there is going to be one built at dundonald ice bowl that sweeps around the ice rink.... For those of you that know the rink , it will sweep clockwise all the way from the cafe windows right around as far as the clock on the opposite wall, with parts over hanging the rink itself. ( the bleachers are being knocked out with the wall replacing them ) ... So it will be a pretty big climbing wall I would think. Also there is talk of a high level assault coarse .. Again above the ice rink. Both being built and ran by specialist companies .. Incase you are wondering how I know .. I unfortunitly work there lol

Here's a link to the plans for the North West Regional Sports Campus, that will include a 15m high climbing arena.

This has gone to tender, presume it will open in 2014/2015.
This will replace the St Columbs leisure centre.
In the meantime, the North West Climbers https://www.facebook.com/pages/North-West-Climbers/175624492581132 have been repainting and putting up new routes, ahead of a junior U17 climbing competition in January.

Was shown this today in work... It's obviously not for the serious climber as i first though , but this is what will be going into The Ice Bowl very shortly.... Brilliant for kids !! The company are moving their offices in very shortly so I say it will be up and running very very soon :) http://clipnclimbexeter.co.uk/

Out of my way children, I want a go first.
This looks like great craic, I can imagine it being a great thing for families. Mum and daughter go ice skating, dad and son want to go climbing. Sorted.
