Title: A couple of runs / walk over Chrimbo - boxing day & 28th December

Theres a couple of runs and charity walk coming up in the near future for anyone that would be interested, both taken from the NI Mountain Running Association website

26th December 12noon.

Start & Entries at Trassey Track car Park, Mournes. GR - 311313
5.5miles, 1500ft.

Route:
Starts at the beginning of the Trassey Track. Up the Trassey Track, Then forks right at a ford to the col between Sl Bernagh and Meelmore. Contours across to the col between Meelbeg & Meelmore then descends NW down the Happy Valley to the Ulster Way. Then returns via the Ulster way to the Trassey Track, and to the finish.

Safety:
A gear check will take place before the start of this race!
All competitors must be in possession of full body cover, compass and whistle.


2009 Christmas Cracker Race and Charity Walk
 
The 2009 Christmas Cracker will take place on Monday 28th December at 1.00 pm. Registration will take place from 12 noon at Castlewellan Football Club. In addition to the pairs race there will be a relay race this year. Please print the Entry Form (see below) and bring it to registration on race day.
 
Distance is 16 k with use of roads and forest tracks around Castlewellan Forest Park.
 
This event is suitable for road, cross-country and hill runners – prove you are the best.  The relay race is aimed at juniors and fun runners and special prizes for those in fancy dress.  For further information contact Marty McVeigh at 028 4372 5054

I will be away for the Boxing Day run but might make it to the 28th if I'm sober enough to run

doubt i'll make the race but the routes will be good for trainning runs.
