I am not 100% if I can make it in time, but is it possible to get an affordable? taxi cab from Newcastle to the carpark leading up to the meet?

Taxi costs £12.00 there and £12.00 back. Anyway its no bother. If anyone can't give a lift.  then we will get a taxi. But I rather pay £5.00 for the persons carpark fee than £24.00.
It already costs me £7.60 odds to get to newcastle and the taxi from my house to the bus station is about £5.00.

So I already spent alot of travel costs.

To get a taxi at newcastle.
Taxi (From House to Bus Station) £5.00
Bus (From Belfast to Newcastle) £7.60
Taxi (From Newcastle Bus Station to Carrick Little Carpark) £12.00

Total: £24.60

Return Journey
Total: £24.60

Grand Total £49.20

To me thats expensive coming up to christmas time.

To get a Lift at newcastle.
Taxi (From House to Bus Station) £5.00
Bus (From Belfast to Newcastle) £7.60
Carpark Over Night Fee £5.00

Total: £17.60

Return Journey
Total: £12.60

Grand Total: £30.20

Savings £19.00

Like I said if there is nobody giving lifts then I will just get a taxi.

:o  It would be cheaper to get yourself dropped in using Amazon Prime Air!!!

Think I'll get them to deliver the Turkey to save me carrying it up  ;D

Dr Who, you've done the right thing in exploring the options.  I suppose most people won't know what their plans are for the day yet.  There could be kids Saturday morning sports on, people could be doing last minute shopping in the morning of the camp, some may plan to do a bit of walking before it and stuff like that.  I'd raise it again closer to the time.

Dr Who there's alway the Mourne Shuttle Bus (AIMSS) which I believe is £5 each, not a big saving though. If there's a few from Belfast it might be worth his while bringing you the whole way. Peter might even want to join us for dinner  :)

I'm sure you would have no problem getting a lift back on Saturday, as whorya says best check a few days beforehand as its hard to commit at this point, I certainley have no idea what time I'll be going or how many i'll have in the car.

Hay I'll have space for two but as someone else said there I'll not know my exact times until the day. I'll post my time I'm leaving Belfast (Dundonald) at probably the day before.  More than happy to pick up you and your brother either in Newcastle or at forestside.

Hope this helps.

Think I am about 80% set on going to this, I won't know for definite until the end of next week. If I do go I can happily pick up two folks on the way if anyone still needs a lift by that stage.

I'm the same as clairebear in that I won't know what time I'm leaving home in Newcastle until the day before. I'm sure I could take a few people with me in the corsa though. I will probably be leaving early-ish in the morning as well if anybody wants left at Newcastle bus station?

I'm a definite yes for this one, if anyone needs a lift I can provide space for two people. I am aiming to get up there by around 2ish so I have time for a bit of a dander around first. Will be heading there through Belfast and not going to be in a rush the following morning.
