With the dark nights and crap weather , has anyone got any winter projects planned ?

I'm working on a gas bottle stove / heater for those cold winter days piking

I hope to have a go a carving some spoons - in my case it will probably be nothing more than a glorified spatula. :'(

id like to make a knife,the type where you grind away the excess materiel from the sleel bar.

with a dremmel. lol.

also really want to get this bow drill thing done too,i think that would be an achievement.

we should do this `hut` project dude. except perhaps a little closer to home?


also,when is this overnighter happening??? i think we should do it just for the hell of it,i cant see anyone dying in the course of one night as long as theres a good fire.




as for the spoons Alan,have you got a decent crook knife? makes it soooooooo much easier.ps dont try oak to start with mate .

Haven't got the crook knife yet, will be looking on EvilBay for one. Been doing some reading about it though and will try it out for the first few times on cheap scrap woods to see if I can get the techniques right.

But I do, however, envisage a large pile of kindling at the end of my endeavours......lol
