Title: Feather stick
Post by: Celt_Ginger on May 28, 2009
here's a picture of a feather stick I knocked up with the Axe today. It's made from Ash, and has a combination of large and small curls going intp a good tight bundle. Even though the log I cut to make it was very wet on the outside, it was bone dry in the middle. perfect for starting a fire if the weather is wet. Of course you would need to make 5 or 6 to get a fire going using feather sticks.

I've not tried to make feather sticks but I've seen them used. Is that a Gransfors axe?

Yes it is a Gransfors small forest axe. It's a good tool, but not as good as my Cegga axe.
