Title: Litter clean up
Post by: spin on April 15, 2017
#leavenotrace
A few friends and I are keen to be involved in a litter cleanup day in the Mournes or Co Down coastal area. We are lucky to be able to spend our free time in the Mournes and throughly enjoy all it has to offer so thought that we'd offer some time  to help get rid of some of the ever increasing litter we're encountering while down there.
Has anyone got any info/dates/details on this type of thing ie an organised charity/local project event?
I've done a Google search but have not found any info of any upcoming events.
Thanks in advance ✌💚👍

Hi Spin

That's a very worthy cause.  Perhaps you could plan your own but get in touch with the Mourne Heritage Trust.  You could agree an area and ask if they could arrange a bag lift of the rubbish that you have collected.  That could work well if easily accessed by one of their vehicles.  They might be able to provide litter pickers which would make the job a lot easier and safer.

Did you get any upcoming dates for s cleanup? I know Life in Castlewellan do an annual cleanup on Donard, and NIMRA also do a few.

Just get up there and have a cleanup yourselves. As whoRya said, if you speak to Mourne Heritage they would probably supply some bags and take the litter you collect off your hands.

Well done for taking action!
