hello folks from ballycastle!

im from ballycastle, iv been doing a bit of rock climbing now for a year or so, (mainly indoors), and was just checkin to see if any1 fancies helpin me get some climbing organised- im only a novice and basically just tryin to get out with some experienced people-

Welcome.

I fancy trying climbing but there's no way I'd do it outdoors yet. I was in the caves at Cave Hill a few weeks back and was a bit bloody wobbly coming back down again even from no height :D Maybe some experience on a wall might get my confidence up.

hello jonno,

aye i don't mind doing a bit of climbin up at the wall, i would normally go to the ozone, but im also lookin to get some experience on the big outdoors with like minded people-fairhead on my doorstep...makes me ragin i cant climb it. but yea indoors is a good place to build the oul confidence up!

Im in the same boat, started off with the climbing wall but looking for someone who has bit more expereince to help me out into the real cliff face, dont worry mate good people on this site we will get something sorted

yea good to know theres others on the same boat as me, that ways somethings bound to happen.
im just looking to have a laugh, doing a bit of camping, iv done a bit of kayakin-only a little mind, and some of these meets and trips sound pretty good, so hope to get involved in some of them too.

Hi check out Mountaineering Ireland. they are the governing body for climbing in Ireland (they also provide the NIBA's insurance)

They have lists of all the affiliated clubs and loads of other stuff. If you are into climbing, it's worth checking them out.

Cheers Celt-Ginger, i checked out the link, seems wise enough to become a member, quite possibly gona be my next form of attack. there are clubs in belfast which cater for people like me, so it looks like il be crashing one of the queens climbing sessions! ;D

oh sounds good...i would def be up for that, but first things first- i need to find myself a kayak :( haha, any tips on gettin a cheap one, but stil one thats im not gona be bailin the water out after a few rough sessions?

What cave did you get up to jonno, ive been to the 1st cave like most people, the 2nd one is hard to reach ?
