Salt Island gets a hair cut
« on: September 02, 2012 »

The front of the bothy had become a bit overgrown with reeds, nettles, thistle and various other jaggy stingy things , I launched from Killyleagh on Friday afternoon into a complete B@st##d of a head wind and paddled over to the island ,
I  was amazed to find the table and benches I had built were still there ..

On Saturday morning after a good breakfast  I started work .... some before and after pics

raked it all up into piles and dumped it over the wall :D

Another job ticked off my to do list

Ahh its not so bad .. secret is to sharpen the sickle every 10 mins or so ..  I could've done it a  lot quicker with a sythe ... but impossible to carry one over in the kayak

Hard work’s never easy! A good job well done Andy. I wouldn’t have the lower back for that.
