Cove Lough Solo Camp
« on: December 28, 2016 »

Merry Christmas and a happy new year everyone!! I was out on a wee solo trip last night, camping at Cove Lough. The next morning I headed up Cove Mountain and on to Slieve Lamagan. See video below....

Brilliant Heggs, cracking weather and class footage. I'm sure you enjoyed having the mountains to your-self for a quiet night after the hubbub of Xmas. Happy New Year to you and cheers for sharing.

Aww guys, it was soooooo calm and not too cold either. Great wee spot. Have to say, coming down Lamagan nearly killed me though lol. It's so steep and rocky.
I was thinking of another camp soon with the brats as it is so calm, if anyone fancies it just gimme a shout and we can try to arrange something. Maybe Annalong again or Fofanny?

Nice one Heggs and fair play, I don't think I have seen a tent pitched there before.  I was up the same night, only a hop, skip and jump across Cove Mountain down at the shelter stone.  It was a peachy night and beautiful the next day.

Indeed, I met Ed and Eamonn on the way up.  You got a great night too.  As Heggs said earlier the weather has been so settled, we don't often get such a long period of time in winter like this.

Torp, I was thinking of tomorrow night but have to put it on hold. Tiling today, and have to grout and build a stud wall tomorrow :(
Maybe next weekend?
WhoRya I probably got the only spot there to pitch. Was a bit damp but had a ground sheet so was fine. Never been to shelter stone so maybe have to check that out.
There was a bit of indulgence while camping too Boron. Mince pies, smarties, Turkey, ham and cherry vodka was on the menu :)
