Chuck was so thoughtful that he lite his under my tarp and warmed the ground for me to lie on . It's also a good place to sit round for a bit of banter

The Buff gives me the simplest of pleasures; is it a beanie, a scarf, a headband, a balaclava, a pirate cap, a face cloth, a towel... the list goes on!  My Vango Tempest tent is already becoming like an old friend to me (and Kat!).  Its not the lightest, but I can see it becoming a bit of a home-from-home.  The boots are a no brainer as well, as I always have comfy dry feet at the end of a long day.  These are a few of my favourite things...

That's a difficult question, as the kit would change with different environments. For most places in Northern Ireland I'd get by with the following...

Knife
Steel mug
Water bottle

TK-Maxx sell cheapy three packs of buffs for less then a £5. Not as long as the real ones...but at the same time they don't seem to be trying to strange you just as quick

ps. I'll bet a lot of the lurkers are search engine bots and link checkers from Twitter etc that why page views are into the dozens very quickly..

...but the "Who's online" stats show someone registering....so you have at least one lurker about to join

1.My Narrona soft shell trousers. Worth every penny!
2. My boots, I thought I'd be a trail shoes man untill the day I died, untill the Asolo powermatics entered my life!
3. Exped dry bags. Worth their (minimal/non existent) weight in gold. Save so much faffing around in your ruck. I use different colours for different things. So when your tired and its getting dark you can see straight away where your food/sleeping bag/warm kit is and you know its going to be dry! Plus they make awesome pillows.

You should only get to name one thing since sometimes you only actually bring 3
