If only he'd dehydrated the beans! That's brilliant, got to admire his decisiveness: 'if in doubt, chuck it out'  8)

All sorted gear wise also, just need to buy some more food and parcel it off to the forward locations, Dave is sorting out the maps and I have to get the train tickets and then we are all squared away to go.

I have been walking to work and back again with my pack. its only 3 miles but any effort is better than no effort. Also been cycling and playing football to try and keep a fitness level.

Excitement must be building now guys!  I'm sure you've posted this somewhere and I probably missed it on my 'sabbatical' but what is the rough route you went for?  Where are you starting and finishing?

We are starting in Mallaigthen heading towards Fort Augusus. From there going across the monalaigth to Aviemore. Over Ban Macadui into Braemar onto jocks road to Brechin then finish in Montrose.

Sorry about the spelling

Are you arriving in Mallaig on the late train?  If you haven't already booked I would highly recommend staying in Mallaig Backpackers overnight.  Its a good place to bed down for the night if you don't fancy trying to find the wild camping pitch near the antennae :)  Also, there is a handy Co-Op across the street to stock up on last minute supplies, and you are only a couple of minutes from where you buy the boat ticket and where you check out.  Route from Fort Augustus seems like a good choice, think its a better idea than heading Fort William direction.  Where are you spending your first night?

Wouldn't worry about the spellings... I find its the pronunciations that always cause the problems :D

Absolutely!  You have my email address so if you have a .GPX file or such like I'd love to get a look at it :)  Its about the closest I'll get to experiencing the Scottish Highlands this year... :'(
