hi i was wanting to no if anyone was wanting to help me get into bushcraft as i have always loved it but never had the chance to get out and do it so nows the time to start. Im male 28 and from belfast but can travel anywhere and would love to meet up with some of you. thanks

There's a handfull of the Northern Ireland Bushcraft Association lurking about here. They'll be able to get you started.

We generally have a number of open days throughout the year. Dates are usually posted on NI Wild so keep your eyes peeled for info. Next one will be in early 2010.

get a frosts mora clipper dude. it,ll cost you about a tenner maybe less and they are a great starter knife.

though bushcraft isnt just about cutting up sticks

saying that,youd feel lost without a decent blade.

Why not go to that weekend thing at Carnfunnock I have booked my place and there are still more spaces. The nbia people have built stuff up there I saw it the other day and it looks good, I would like to learn some of that. ( it was one of those sloping shelter things out of wood and leaves and it had a bed in it)

That was the lean-to shelter you saw, It might look crude and easy to build but there is a lot of hard work and planning that goes into shelter building as I am sure you will find out when you are with us.
