Post by: eventadmin on April 30, 2009
Location:
Peatlands Park

Peatlands Park will be hosting the fifth Northern Ireland Bog Snorkelling Championship on Sunday 26th July 2009 to celebrate International Bog Day. This promises to be a fun filled day for everyone.

SO WHAT IS BOG SNORKELLING?
Exactly what it says - Swimming along a 120 yard bog drain with the aid of a snorkel, mask and flippers and without using any conventional swimming strokes! Anyone over the age of 12 with good physical fitness can have a go and the good news is – it’s free to enter. Participants can compete in one of four categories;

Men’s Northern Ireland Champion
Women’s Northern Ireland Champion
Junior Northern Ireland Champion [1 lap 60 yards] (12 – 15 years old)
Relay Team Champion (3 persons per team)
Fun Run & Fancy Dress [1 lap 60 yards] (prizes for best fancy dress)

HOW DO I ENTER?
Ask for an Entry Pack (see contact details) then simply complete and return the forms before 30 June.

You do not need to register for the Fun Run & Fancy Dress Heat. Just turn up and register on the day (NOTE: Places will be limited for this heat).

AND IF YOU DON’T FANCY GETTING WET?
Come along and give your support to the competitors. However, the Northern Ireland Bog Snorkelling Championship 2009 is only a small part of International Bog Day. There will be lots of fun games and activities for all the family happening in the park. Don't forget, admission into the Park is FREE! and the train will be FREE all day.
