Online Maps and Coordinates
« on: February 12, 2013 »

Hi, I was just wondering if there are any maps available online where I can plug in coordinates (like on a gps) and see that particular point on the map? Can it be done in Google maps or anything? If so how?

Sorry if this is a silly question.

I was trying to see the Knockdhu Souterrain on a map - Map Reference: D348068 (3348, 4068).

Copy and paste this into Google Maps:

54.89126,-5.90005

*edit, it's roughly where the green arrow is not the red one, but RedLeader has it spot on.

Google maps will take a Lat/Long. Use this website to convert grid references (or other co-ord systems)

http://www.nearby.org.uk/

This is the Google Satellite View of that Grid Ref

Thanks for that guys. I'd worked it out eventually. The Souterrain looks pretty close to that grey bungalow. Has anyone ever been to it? And did you get permission from anyone first? I just want a look at it.
