Donard walk for Chest, Heart and Stroke
« on: August 20, 2012 »

Went up Donard yesterday with my manager and 4 others from work to raise money for Chest Heart and Stroke.

Was a very nice day all day on the way down to Newcastle, but unfortunately as is often the case, the mountains themselves were cloudy.

Fun trip up, with everyone setting their own pace. I was without water as my bladder pack tasted like an old boot and I didn't want to risk it.

Unfortunately on the way down a member of the group in sprint shoes sprained her ankle badly.

My manager and I ran from the saddle to donard park (my first time doing that) and brought the car up as far as we could get it - but unfortunately the gates were locked.

We eventually got her down the mountain and she's resting up.

A good day out all things considered
