Hey
« on: November 25, 2011 »

Hi,

Discovered this website today so decided to join up.

I enjoy archery, walking, canicross and dryland mushing.  Always looking for beautiful new places in which to walk and run; and interesting ways to get the family out into the fresh air for the day!

Hiya,

Thanks for the welcomes.  :)

Dryland mushing is like working sled dogs, only with wheels!  ;D  Using similar harnesses and lines that sled dogs use, they are hooked up to a special scooter or rig which you ride on whilst the dog pulls.  Lots of fun and a great way to exercise my boy who can't get offlead as he's no recall whatsoever.  ;)

Some people use bikes, this is called bikejoring.

If you are interested in learning more, Tailsandtrails.ie are a helpful bunch who arrange monthly meet ups as well as friendly advice on getting started etc.

Hope that helps.

Welcome Evie, another archer like myself! 8)

Cool!  Whereabouts do you shoot/what kind of archery?  I enjoy target archery with my recurve bow.  Only started back in July, groupings all over the place, but I have fun doing it.  ;)  My daughter is to blame; she wanted to start it, so I went along.  They asked me if I wanted to have a go as well and now I'm hooked.

I've three.  The one I go mushing with is a male husky x.  We also have a small male lab x terrier and a small female lurcher.  Kids sometimes go mushing with other boy and have been known to canicross with the lurcher on occasions.  Life seems to revolve around those three, lol.  Most of my interests spring from enjoying exercising them; apart from the archery I might add!  :o
