Maidens of Mourne 5K / 10K Run
Narrow Water Estate
Tuesday, 3rd August 2010

As part of the schedule of events laid on by the 2010 Maidens of Mourne Festival, 26 Extreme will be hosting 5K and 10K runs in the grounds of Narrow Water Estate. The event will be entirely off road taking in the Castle Grounds and Big Wood Forest. This is a beautiful venue for such an event and will give participants the opportunity to be part of the fist ever event of this nature to take part in the Warrenpoint area.

ARRIVAL & PARKING
On arriving at Narrow Water Castle gates follow the road up to the front of the castle where a marshal will direct you to the event parking area. Parking will be free, however, in the interests of the environment we encourage people to car pool as much as possible.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE HARD SHOULDER OF THE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY.

REGISTRATION TIMES
Registration will be open from 5.30pm – 7.00pm. Late entries will not be accepted.

EVENT START TIMES
The 10K run will start at 7:30pm sharp.
The 5k run will start at 7.40pm sharp

ENTRY FEES
Pre entry for both the 10k and 5k runs will be available at a discounted cost of £10.00.

Pre entry is available through the Run Ireland website (www.runireland.com) or by completing your details on the back of the event flyer and returning it, along with payment, to the event organisers.

Pre entry for the event closes on Tuesday 27 July 2010

Entry on the night is also available at a cost of £12.00 for both the 10k and 5k events.

EVENT TIMING
Event timing will be provided by ChampionChip Ireland.

CHECKPOINTS
To keep you on the straight and narrow there will be checkpoints and Marshalls along the way. If you need assistance, direction or just a bit of encouragement they will be there to help. They will also make sure everyone who sets off makes it home safe and sound.

SPECTATORS
Family and friends are more than welcome to come along to this event to show support for people you know. The familiar voice of someone you know can make all the difference when the legs are burning. Supporters can also add an atmosphere and additional energy to the experience for all the other participants and the crew. We will help advise spectators as to where the best locations are along the route to cheer you on.
