when packing my tent to save a bit of room I pack the pole on the outside of my pack, this means I can compress the material parts of the tent much smaller than I could if the pole were included.

What sort of tent did you go for mate.

Also I found at this time of year I need to put a foam roll mat under my self inflating for add insulation(But this might be because I have a cheapo mat)

I would love to join you guys on the Sunday but to be totally honest being new to this, don't think my fitness would be up to it and would just slow you down.  I have planned to head up to the mournes on Sunday from Cecil newman car park at trassey and walk up to the mourne wall.

Why not give it a go, there's all different levels of fitness going and to be fair I wouldn't say I was uber fit. ::)

Did you make the trangia windshield from foil? I made one but it's a bit tatty and hard to transport unless its rolled round something.

I do have to roll it but it fits inside my cup with a small pot scrubber. I'll show it to you at the weekend.

Think I made mine a bit high to fit in the cup. Might trim it down a bit. I usually carry it wrapped round a water bottle but it's a pain when you want to drink.

theres two groups of us taking two different routes to donard forest (read the thread it'll make sense!), feel free to join either or if you'd rather just meet us there for a nights camping then go for it.
