Just saying hi
« on: February 20, 2014 »

Hi Brian here I am a mature hiker and love the Mournes. Am hopefully doing the East Highland Way in May. By the way if anyone knows how to change my profile name I would be grateful. It was supposed to be Bayman, cause I live at a bay, but in my haste it appears to have come out as Batman, which is somewhat harder to explain. Thanks

I didn't realise there was an East Highland Way. How does it relate to the West Highland Way?

I think it starts in Fort William and goes to Aviemore; Bayman will no doubt have the gruelling stats.

Looks like it has a rather good website http://www.easthighlandway.com/ where you can view it section by section.

Ahh, I assumed the WHW went west rather than just being in the west. They should rename it the South East Highland Way in the West.

Yes did the West Highland Way a couple of years ago and spotted the East Highland Way which starts where the WHW ends. Hope to do it over 5 days about 82 miles. Should be good, a bit less travelled than the WHW.
