All being well will be doing a quick overnighter on binnian this thursday night.. Going up with one other so he can put the ghost of his previous overnighter on binnian to bed and to try out his new hunka bivvy bag . All welcome
-
Looks like lovely weather for it too. Better than last time anyways!
You bivvying or tenting?
-
It has to be the bivvy . Never done a bivvy till I came onto this site and I have caught the bivvy bug ..can't put my finger on it but there is just something special about it
-
Can't recommend it highly enough, nothing better than waking up looking at the sky. Just make sure you know a few tarp setups for if it's windy. It all looks dead easy when you're reading about it on the internet but when it's blowing 40 on the side of a mountain and the suns going down confidence can drop a bit :D

Have been practicing my tarps any chance I can but after the last bivvy I have a big rip in it so the duct tape is in use ..as for the wind the stronger the better ;D
-
Or ditch the tarp altogether and just bivvy under the stars :) I felt a lot better after I packed away my tarp on Binnian and just slept out in the open... no worrying about it blowing away during the night etc.
-
Wish I could make it but during the week is a no no for me sorry.

That's what I am planning tarps are for big girls :o

You do realise you can sleep under it, you don't actually have to make a dress out of it :P
I still like a tarp, head under, rest of you out plus plenty of space tp store gear / cook in the rain. If it's nice you can still elect to not sleep under it.

Points taken I will go stand in corner :'(
I always bring my tarp with me as it can be a nice pillow and the cooking under shelter will always win hands down if it's pouring . When you made your dress I take it duct tape was used for hem line instead of safety pins :-*

Tarp and duct tape is all the rage on the Paris catwalks and this years autumn colour will be DPM green. Ponchos are soooo last year.
