Title: Karrimor Peak Mens shoe £12 from £49.99
Post by: VMCC on December 08, 2010
The Karrimor Peak is the basic shoe in the range, usually retailing at £49.99 this week (currently 8th December) down to £12.

Also on the same website, Craghoppers coats reduced from £74 down to £30 and Brasher boots, half price from £99.99 to £50.

Hopefully the info will be of some use to someone.

Great find, My Berghaus Softshell trousers are cheaper there than at cotswold with my discount.

Thanks

You can usually pick up those Karrimor shoes in Sports Direct for a similar price.  I bought a pair last year for general kicking around, country parks, camping etc. and they were dead on.  Sole wore out a bit prematurely, though at the price it hardly matters.

Never used Field and Trek before, but I think they were the guys who had the Terra Nova Laser Comp at £140 for awhile :(

I wouldn't buy anything from sports direct, regardless of the price.

How come? I've had a few bargains from there.

I wouldn't buy anything from sports direct, regardless of the price.

I can only assume Celt is a Newcastle FC fan, disgruntled at the sacking of Chris Hughton by Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley ;D

The interesting thing is that if you have a look at the "Returns" information on the Field and Trek site you are instructed to return unwanted orders to ... Sports Direct!

Well spotted, just noticed this at the bottom of the Field & Trek homepage:

Sports Direct International Plc. Registered in England. Registered No: 06035106

Looks like Field & Trek is just another part of Mike Ashley's empire!  Makes sense as he also owns the Karrimor brand and I thought their goods were exlusively sold through Sports Direct.  A quick look at his Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Ashley_(businessman)) suggests that your money may end up in his pockets through more stores than just Sports Direct:

Quote
Nottinghamshire based group Sports Direct International Plc, with headquarters in Shirebrook, Mansfield has over 400 UK stores including the chains Sports World, Lillywhites (acquired in 2002) and Gilesports...

Ashley has made his money by buying brands. The first major brand he bought was Donnay. In February 2003 Ashley bought the Dunlop Slazenger brand for £40 million, followed up by acquiring outdoor gear manufacturer Karrimor in March 2003,[7] Kangol for £10 million, boxing brand Lonsdale, most of these brands were bought from distressed sellers. After considering a takeover, Ashley took a £9 million stake and signed a long-term deal with Umbro.

Ashley has a 29.4% stake in Blacks Leisure Group, the owner of Millets and Mambo, and is thought to hold stakes in JJB Sports and 19% of JD Sports....

Also explains why Field & Trek had a Laser Comp on sale at a low price and Sports Direct occasionally do.
