Just remove my name from the pudding please lol. I need to bring camping stuff too 😆
Hi Guys,
You can remove my +1. Unfortunately he couldn't get the shift swapped at work on the Sunday morning,
Cheers,
Sean.
I have a newbie coming so who'd like to bring something to the party, we'll probably not be there until 7ish so maybe a dessert item (more whisky? 8) ) so if anyone has too much on their list pass an item on to me.
I have finally negotiated a pass for the Christmas Dinner camp out. Is it Ok I come at this stage with plus 1 ? I have stuff on in the saturday morning until 2.45pm and then I can head down. I can arrive from 4.30ish onwards by the time I drive down. I will look the list for items to bring.
My drama is off and I can come at a more respectable time now. Would be aiming to be at Annalong early afternoon.
Weather is looking just about as good as we could expect at this point. Going to be bloody cold though, wrap up warm folks 8)

The UK's next named storm has been forecast to hit Scotland on Thursday.
Storm Caroline is expected to see winds gusting to 80mph near north-facing coasts, and reaching speeds of 60 to 70mph more widely in northern and north east Scotland.
The Met Office warned that the conditions could disrupt travel.
Snow and freezing temperatures have been forecast for Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales on Friday and Saturday in the wake of Caroline.
The two previous named storms were Aileen in September and Brian in October.
A yellow "be aware" warning is in place for Scotland between 08:00 and 23:55 on Thursday.
Yellow warnings have also been issued by the Met Office for 00:05 Friday to 18:00 Saturday.
The Met Office said snow showers were expected to become increasingly frequent over northern Scotland late on Thursday.
Snow is expected to fall across many other parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and western England on Friday, with between 2cm and 5cm likely in some areas.
The Met Office said up to 20cm was possible over high ground, mainly in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
It added: "Icy surfaces are also likely to be an additional hazard, especially overnight.
"Strong northwest winds may cause drifting of the snow in places, with blizzard conditions possible at times across northern Scotland."
The wintry weather follows snow and cold temperatures experienced in parts of Scotland earlier this month.
Scotland's mountain ranges, including the Cairngorms and Glen Coe, have already seen heavy snow falls in recent weeks.

Guys, what are the thoughts on tomorrow?
I love camping in the snow but I also know that road up to Carrick Little car park.
Getting up and down the hill here to my house in Belfast has been fun today and it's not going to get any better overnight.
I think I will play it by ear tomorrow.
NI Weather & Flood Advisory Service has issued the following weather warning.

The public are advised to take extra care if out tonight.
Our yellow warning for snow remains in force tonight and into tomorrow. Along with our Amber warning for snow on Sunday.

I'm a bit wary of coming up in a car that's rwd and pretty poor in bad weather. Any chance I could cadge a lift from someone? I can get to Newcastle okay, I'm just worried about driving out the Head Road and beyond.QuoteNI Weather & Flood Advisory Service has issued the following weather warning.

My dad always said rear wheel drive cars are actually much better in snow because you have the option of loading as much weight as you want onto the driving wheels. Just fill the boot with weight. I have never owned a rear wheel drive car myself to test the theory..
hi, if it's not to late i'd like to attend also. not sure whats left, is anyone bringing christmas cake? if not i'll try to pick up a tasty one.
cheers.
Sorry guys, bottling this one. Bit nervous about the drive home tomorrow.

Grizzly Dave, our mad man on the hill is going to let us know what it's like in the morning after he's had his morning swim in the Annalong river and caught his breakfast 8) We'll also check with the car park at Carrick Little at about 10am to see what the conditions are like and will post here. As of 7pm this evening the Head Road and Carrick Little Lane were clear and driveable.
We want to aim to eat by 7ish since it's going to be a cold one. We'll want a good sized fire and plenty of wood gathered before dark to see us through the evening. I'll be aiming to be up there at 2-3pm with an eye to starting cooking before 6pm.
I got a blast up Slieve Binnian the next morning. Whilst it was tough work to get up with a full pack the views were incredible.
It would have been something special to have woken up to this.
Brilliant mate we thought you were joking when you said you were going to take it on :DWell the plan to go up helped justify the journey for a short evening.
Great pictures on Binnian. Watched you trek up from the track. I wish I had of gone too!!A bit of company would have been nice. I had the place to myself and only met of a few other walkers on my descent. Mind you there were plenty of cars at Carrick Little. Most folk must have headed to the Blue Lough or the Binnian/Lamagan col.
Nice one RT and a great night ;D ;D
Looks good RT, nicely done.
