Timings ; Sat boat leaves @1400hrs to island and return on Sun @ approx 1200hrs.

Date ; 18th March

Prices ; Adult £10 Kids £5

This includes return boat trip to the island and secure parking, there is no running water on the island but if needed plenty of Lough water however it is advised to filter before drinking, from the dock to the camp area is a short 5 min walk. It is also child friendly and anyone wishing to bring kids may do so, the area is good for both tents and hammocks.

Don't be booking me on the ferry though, as I'm hoping to scoot over on my own wee boat. I've got a baby due in 5 weeks and may need to make a hasty retreat to the mainland :o

The two I'll be bring will be Jay (10) and Lucy (9). Just be warned, I have another due very soon and may have to pull out at short notice. I'll drop you a PM if it looks like that may happen, but from what I hear, the kids will love the island no matter whether there's other kids there or not.

Post by: RedLeader on March 06, 2017: Brilliant, mine's itching to camp but I didn't want to bring her if she was going to be there on her own. With Dowser's kids there too there should be a good group in the 6-10 age range, they'll have a ball.

Any of those Ram's Island veterans know what it's like for dealing with this crappy weather e.g. is there a bit of cover or a chance to put tarps up?

Yep, I've a tough call to make for this trip! This could be my last chance to camp for a month or so, but there is no way my wee boat would be cut out for the storms that are forecast.

I can go on the ferry, but then I'm trapped on the Island with a baby due in less than three weeks :o

I've been sick for the past few days. All day yesterday and so far today I've had a splitting headache too. The last thing I want to do right now is camp. I was hoping it would pass by now but it hasn't.
I'm gutted and the kids are too.
I'll let Michael know that you guys will be going ahead though and I'll stick his number below incase anyone needs it. I'm on the phone/pm if anyone needs info.
