Thats really cool. The world really was more exciting before it was digitally mapped and put on the internet!

Yeah no google maps/earth, gps for those guys. Those were real adventures.

I can remember hearing a story about an expedition to cross the antartic. They would only bring enough rations for 3/4 of the trip, the reason being that once they got so far the could afford to eat some of the dogs!

Balls like bengali tigers.
