#minimissions
« on: September 25, 2013 »

Inspired by #microadventures Four Elements are calling out to you to shre your #minimisssions!

Here's the spiel  :)

Adventure means different things to different people. For most it is spirit of trying new things, trying something that’s not easy ,going somewhere different and leaving your comfort zone.

Adventure is not only paddling wild rivers, climbing mountains or cycling round the world. Adventure is all around us, every day and it is there for the taking.

We can’t go on huge adventure missions all the time, as most of us are very often constrained by our working reality.

But you can have a minimission.

You do not need to be super fit, highly trained, or rich to have go on a minimission. You don’t even have to leave your county in fact we ask that you seek out your nearest wilderness for your #minimissions.

A minimission is an adventure that is close to home, cheap, simple, short, and yet extremely effective.

A minimission has the spirit (and therefore the benefits) of a big adventure mission. It's just all condensed into a few hours, a weekend away, or even a midweek escape from work. Living in Ireland we are never very far away from small pockets of wilderness. Bivvy out under the stars, discover deserted islands on loughs, try that adventurous activity that your mate is always on about, cook over an open fire, build a shelter, whatever you want just get out there!

Adventure is all around us, at all times. In these times of recession, getting out into the wild is even more enjoyable, invigorating and important than ever.

So what’s stopping you?

Get out there and explore your own country. Do it by yourself or with friends. Do it with your parents or children or work mates. Seek out short, interesting, rewarding adventures right on your doorstep.

Then share your stories. Write a blog, take photos or video and send it to us via email or, Facebook or via the hashtag #minimissions on Twitter. We will also have a separate #minimissions page on 4elementsni.com . Each month we will feature the best reports or videos and around Christmas we will award the minimission we and you like the best a very special prize.

What are you waiting for?

Donegal?  It looks like a real fun outdoors playground.
