Oh I so want to give that a go next year. Just need to find a partner and my fitness!

Samm they are an excellent race. You can take them at your own pace and just enjoy the day out like a lot of people are doing. Also short cut options so you can take it easy if your getting it tight.
My advice is to race with someone at your level. Even someone you know well you can find out a whole different side when racing. If its just for a bit of fun make sure your team mate knows that.
There is always lots of people wanting to team up so if you wanted to try it and were stuck for a race partner just give Ivan@causewaycoastar.co.uk a buzz and he will sort you out.
Any questions just ask if I cant answer them I will try get an answer for you. But the video is kinda self eexplanatory anyway thats why I wanted to give the forum a visual of the races.

that does look like fun (and not as extreme as it initially sounded) , i might go for the strangford one, hope there's free ice cream there too :)

The cakes, buns, soup and sandwiches after the races are legendary. ;D
A lot of people have the image that Adventure races are grueling events. The CCAR series has been designed to get people into the sport and they dont want to sicken new comers by giving them a brutal course. It is a work out dont get me wrong but at your own pace and a base fitness no reason why active person couldnt take part.

I think it was the ice cream that won me over too!

Hi Everyone just a wee reminder from us at CCAR, entries for the Craigavon round 'The Lakeside Fury' close on Monday 20th February 2012 at 23:59.
This round has an urban feel to it with loads of fun tasks threw in.....! perfect for a first time race..!
No need to have your own kayak or even have sat in a kayak before the boats we have are so easy to paddle..!
Only thing's you need is a mountain bike or similar (not a road bike) and helmet plus basic kit list...!
Oh and a good sense of humour and you will have fun..!
