Sorry, when I mentioned the 4/5 Sep to the wife she reminded me that I told her to find a childminder and I'd taker her out. Think I'm in trouble for not remembering never mind trying to go :D

I'm good most weeks after that so when does Gareth get back from his hols?

Hmm. That's pushing us into Nov which would be chilly for a tester lightweight overnighter. Maybe we should pick a date in Sept that the most people can make with a view to doing it again late Sept or early Niov if poss. In the meantime we could try and just schedule a couple of day up/downs as well. I'm keen to do Bernagh still and I'd like to bring the boy too.

I'm hoping for things to be being organised continually where everyone justs makes it when they can.

Just for fun ........... it sounds a little competative to me so are there going to be rules.
For instance , essentials that must be carried or minimum amounts of whatever ?

I wouldn't imagine so, we're all big boys now! just go with whatever you feel comfortable with. I thought it might be a good idea if it was before the mmm that way we could use it as a kind of proving ground, better to find out early that somethings not right!

Let's not get too carried away :D You could jog up Bernagh in your underpants wearing flipflops and carrying a few energy bars.... I'm happy with trying to get as light as possible and then we can all compare. If needs be we can settle any competitive needs with arm wrestling :D

Are we any further on with plans or dates ?

I know its a bit tough to get a date that suits everyone so I think we should maybe try to narrow down a month then work on the dates, what does everyone think ?

Ultralight hiking is a competitive business but flipflops and underpants may be a step too far, I let my manly machismo get the better of me ;)

On a side note, I haven't returned to planning this because dates are so tight with the schools going back. Once it's clearer I think we'll still try and find a suitable September date (and the 4/5 may still suit me, I'll know in a few days). Either way I'm dead keen to both get up Bernagh and do the bivvying!
