That is terrible to hear of.  I had experience of this years ago, when my brother (using my gear) and a few mates had all their stuff taken in the Annalong Valley.  I'm always a lot more cautious now, to the bemusement of some of my friends.  On Friday night I gave myself an hours round trip (running when I could) to fetch something I had mistakenly left in the car.  I just didn't want to to camp with the dread of not knowing if it was OK.

This kind of thing is very disheartening. The kit we use in the hills is not cheap and probably for most people like me it has taken a number of years to acquire it.
