Walking Poles
« on: October 27, 2010 »

Hi All,

I am on the look out for some semi-decent (wont break the bank) walking poles... the only catch is that I would like to get them by the weekend... the only ones I have read about and kinda have my heart set on are Pacer Poles.... Anyone used these? Any thoughts/ opinions on them or others similarly priced?

I want them primarily for hiking with but also the potential for holding up the the tarp with... can this be done with any poles or should I be more inclined to invest in strong ones specifically for this purpose?

As you can imagine - I have never used any poles before so all recommendations/ suggestions would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Remember the differences between hobos, tramps, and bums: hobos' are people who travel and look for work, tramps are people who travel and don't look for work, bums are people who neither travel nor look for work

I have 2 poles but use them for different reasons

I have a exped viewfinder which is a mono pod aswell and a eurohike walker which hasa crows head.

The eurohike was used to hold up a tarp in abit of wind and it is fine. I am sure mostpoles would be fine for holding a tarp (Not my bag).
