Title: Slieve Donard Moonlit Walk
Post by: Cancer Focus NI on April 20, 2017
Friday 12th May

Challenge yourself to make it to the highest peak in Northern Ireland – in the dark!  Starting at dusk you will be plan to make it to the summit, around midnight, where you will be able to stargaze and marvel at the lights of Newcastle and beyond, before returning to Donard car park for a well-earned hot cuppa!

Get your torch ready for this must-do challenge.

Route
We will be taking the well-known Brandy Pad Route – the main track up and down alongside the Glen River.  The time taken to complete the climb depends on the pace of the group but on average it takes approximately 6 hours. This is a medium challenge and participants should have a good level of fitness and also have some experience of walking long distances.
