Hey Guys,
I'm Mark, I've been camping on and off for years and "proper camp" with my family each year. But I also love wild camping, I mainly cycle so my kits can be a bit larger than back pack.
I used to sleep under tarp but recently upgraded to a polish laavu poncho tent. That my brother and I share. I know it is quite weighty but on the bike I can get away with it.
I am have way beteeen army surplus gear and basic bushcraft. Shying away from the more expensive gear.
I am also starting to plan and prep for some hiking and camping, with my first trip looking like being annalong.
I hope that I will be able to increase my bush craft and find appropriate places to practice.
(The garden only take you so far!)

Hi and welcome to the group ;D

Hi and welcome. I'm starting to cycle myself but I don't think I'm game enough to cycle & camp yet :)
Annalong will be the perfect spot to do a bit of testing and messing with Bushcraft. Good luck 8)

Hi Marlowe. Welcome to NI Wild. It's always interesting to hear what gear others use and where they use it!

Guys thanks for the welcome, the cycle trip was a success, me managed to go all around the North Coast, stopping at al 10 Game of Thrones doors on the way. Despite some horrible weather we had a good few wild camps on the way. unfortunately i didn't have my big camera this trip but we did get some videos.
I have made a youtube page for some fun, so please check it out.
Just last night i uploaded my packup for £100 and would love to hear your thoughts. Let me know if you have any other gear that is ideal for the beginner back pack.
