Welcome to our new Biker Section
« on: November 11, 2013 »

Welcome to the new NI-Wild Biker Area, for those that like camping but sometimes they can't be bothered with all the walking.

Use this area to introduce yourself as a biker and send a picture of your machine to dowser@ni-wild.co.uk for it to be displayed in the gallery below.

Motorbike camping opens up a whole new way to explore the great outdoors so if you have any experiences, good or bad, don't be shy and let us hear all about them.

Also, feel free to use this section to arrange outings, discuss gear and share motorcycle camping tips.

Just thought I would post up a wee pic of my Fazer for your Bandit owners club ha ha ha....

Ps had to post pic like this as the link to Dowsers address would not work but ypu will probably find it's me not doing it right  :- :-[ :-[

Nice one Glenn B, I didn't know you rode.  I've added your machine to the gallery above.

Hopefully we can get a ride out organised soon, although we'll have to get you a few Suzuki stickers for your bike  ;)

Hi SpartanBaz,

Welcome to the NI-Wild Bikers section.  Nice Triumph dude...  An excellent machine for a bit of Motorbike Camping!  Your photo has been placed in the Bike Gallery above...

...Hope you don't mind me cropping the photo down a bit.  In this section we want to see metal and machine, not greenery!!! We keep that for the monthly photo comp  :D

Hey folks, new member here but just found this section and thought I'd post a pic of my bike up. As you can see I've made a trailer for her, to take my tent etc to bike ralleys as the wife takes up the pillion seat lol.

Nooooooo Wayyyyyyyy!!!!! That is soooooo cool dude! That is so up my street and can't wait to start making one so my daughter and I can do a bit of travelling on the bike. What an awesome idea/design. Is it road legal or have you had any hassle from the cops???

Looking forward to getting a ride out SAS

Never had any bother from the cops, the trailer has rear lights, break lights and indicators, as well as reflective chevrons and running lights, so it's well lit up and easy to see.

I haven't been able to find much info on legality of bike towed trailers, but as far as I have been able, I have made it as legal as common sense directs me.

It's great for ralleys, but does interfere a bit with riding. It can also be a bugger to do a 3-point turn lol

I'm defo gonna start putting one of these together... think the only thing I may change is the ground clearance. I'll probably raise the front end of the box as high off the ground as possible so that I can get a bit more lean.  I would be worried about forgetting it's there, going into a corner, and the front corner of the box biting into the tarmac.

Great photo, great idea, thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum dude.

Chat soon,
