I like the fixed blade skipper, i think the tools on it are great for the outdoors.

    *  Shackle opener
    * Marlin spike
    * "Compass" emblem
    * Large ergonomic handle
    * Large blade
    * Side blade-lock system
    * Bottle opener
    * Large screwdriver
    * Wire stripper
    * Reamer / punch
    * Sewing eye
    * Pliers
    * Wire cutter
    * Phillips screwdriver
    * Tweezers
    * Toothpick
    * Keyring

Its around £30 If you look on, www.smarter.com, you might get it cheaper or anything else your thinking of getting.

seems to have a lot of stuff that you'll never use outdoors! i always think swiss army knives seem like a good outdoors option but imo just a simple fold away knife will do everything you need it for. I usually use one of these, pretty damn cheap so it doesnt really matter if it gets trashed, but then again i'm not really into this whole bush craft malarky so I prob dont really understand knives in full.

Dont get me wrong I know they are cracking little pieces of kit, I'm more of a leatherman err man myself but i only really use it about the house or in the car or something. How often has anyone here used a philips screwdriver or a pair of wire strippers at their wild camp? I only really carry a knife now incase something goes wrong when i'm climbing and i need to cut a rope! (touchwood!) or to make pokey sticks by the fire! just a blade is fine in both those circumstances.

I would love a leatherman, but a good one will cost near £100

My Victorinox Swiss Army original Hunter , has a good sharpe blade,  wood saw,  tin openner, bottle openner,  Reamer, Puncher & Sewing Eye,  tent peg puller,  Scissors, toothpick, Tweezers,  Wire Stripper,  Corkscrew

I could use most of the tools on a camp.

LOL you have to look after your tools.  ;D

No it did not sound sinister, i dont know much about knives myself. I was going to get a good hunting knife at 1st but there not cheap and look scarey.

Im glad now i did not jump the gun and get one, as i think the Victorinox Swiss Army is the best all rounder, and its not going to make you look like john rambo when pulling it out or put a hole in your pocket.

And like anything else if you look after it, it should look after you.  ;)

Try not be bad to your kinfe im sure its crying out for TLC.

Cheers chris  ;D
