River Bann
« on: December 22, 2011 »

Hi everyone, has anyone paddled the Bann in recent weeks?
Im planning a trip from Bannbridge to Tullylish on boxing day and I'm just looking to know if there are any obstacls / hazzards on this strech.
Its been a year or so from the last time I done it so any information would be great.

Thanks

Have paddled the Bann from the hockey club to Tullylish a few times in the past month most recently on Sunday. There's nothing to worry about re hazards or obstacles but the water levels low, was nearly getting out and walking some of the river it was that low. If theres no decent rain from now to Boxing day i'd say dont waste your time you'll just collect a few more scratches to your boat.
