Friday Night
« on: April 13, 2011 »

Ok the plan is My youngest and myself are parking up at Carrick Little on Friday evening then heading to Annalong wood to make camp for the night.  Going to take him to Slieve Donard summit on Saturday morning then head back to camp.  He might want to stay an extra night (God willing) on Saturday so might try and get a few more summits in before heading back to camp for some chillaxing.  I hope to be parking up about 6.30pm depending on traffic, if anyone would like to join us then please do so, it would be nice to finally meet some of you guys.

Sounds like a great weekend. Donard will be a dander from Annalong wood but the views on the way up are brilliant if you go by Rocky / Chimney Rock. Unfortunately I can't get out this weekend which is a real shame, I'm itching for a night round the fire.

We where there Tuesday for a quick overnighter with the hammocks , Plenty of fallen trees to use for firewood and we gave the place a quick tidy up removing a perfectly good tent and a lot of empties , and the fox was back stealing sausages  ;D

Hi everyone. I split this topic into two parts. Victorias info on Castlewellan Campsite was extremely interesting and it deserved a thread of its own. Plus we don't want to depress Spartan with negative camping stories after he had a top weekend in Annalong :)

The new thread is here, please feel free to continue the discussion:

Thanks Admin, I didn't want to ruin the lad thread either.
