Hiking in Tenerife
« on: April 04, 2017 »

A few years ago while in Tenerife i climbed Mount Teide which is the highest mountain in spain. We were there in January this year again and this time i climbed Montana Guajara which is 2718 meters and looks across the valley at Mount Teide. I wanted to be at the summit for sunrise which meant leaving our apartment at 4am for a 1 hour drive and then a 1hr 45min hike to the top on a route which i didn't know. I'll post a few pics and a video below.

40 mins before sunrise and the sky starts to colour behind me. I start to run!

I'm well above the clouds and the sky takes on more colour

The rising sun behind me lights up Mount Teide and causes a shadow across the Atlantic ocean behind it. Awesome to see.

Nothing beats climbing a mountain on the way home from the club, eh ;)

Absolutely stunning photos there, a pleasure to see.  You must have some contrasting clothes going into that suitcase for a holiday in the the Canary Islands!

Brilliant photos, looks like an awesome trip and well worth the 4am start  8) You'll have deserved a Sangria round the pool after that!

Great photos, that landscape is so unique! I should really try to make a trip down there and explore the volcanoes.
